I agree totally with Chris Mannion. The new Manx Gold service has King Manx Anorak Andy Wint doing breakfasts, a great start to anyone's day. I didnt like ALL the music personally, nor indeed many of the program hosts. Some are a throwback from Manx's 70s days, and even older and softer than those heard on Boom.

The new Manx Gold however MAY be the saviour of the AM outlet - which is forever under threat, as Manx Radio MUST demonstrate its value to listeners and that it can generate revenue. And there is increased competition in the Island these days.

But as with ALL new stations, you gotta give them chance to "bed in". Those who think they can program a station better should perhaps consider launching their own channel - it's cheap enough to do these days, and there are plenty who will offer advice. (A caveat here - you wont believe how expensive radio can be until you em ploy a bunch of amateurs. get professional help if you want your station to thrive!)
