That 240m transmitter was only 10 kilowatt Garry, an old Pye unit, identical to the standby one at Manx Radio. The 240m Pye was the same one that we used in 1995 on 828kHz for a while while we set up the Harris DX 25U at Heinenoord. And that's the one which is now more widely heard on 648 of course. (So there are two "offshore" links in one answer!

The Pye transmitter was always used at Lopik. When Hilversum moved from 240m to 675 it used FOUR Varian TVT senders, but when I recommissioned them for Radio 10 Gold in the 1990s, it had lots of AEG components stuffed in it.
