Usually with anything collectable - notably toys, original condition is paramount.

So, it's a judgement call for you. Are you a competent modeller who can restore these models so that the restoration doesn't compromise the originality of what remains of the finish when new? If so, I think you might want to go ahead and restore.

If you are not a competent modeller (and absolutely no offence intended!), leave them alone.
