I have been enountering more and more 3D printed models and a number of the resin models do indeed have the problems you have pointed out. I normally put them onto a sunny windowsill for a couple of weeks, which so far has seemed to help.
That said, last year there was a 3D printed resin model sent to me that was actually bendable with my fingers and had that strong smell also, it went straight back to the sender who claimed "It was not like that when it arrived with them", we cam draw oiur own conclusions on that one....
