Re: A Letter from a Friend

David, you were lucky. I could not order as early as you, so I ordered differently, and scientifically. In scientific research, you devise a theory and then perform an experiment to test the theory. The theory was that Skillball's seemed to be a commercial outfit, so the experiment was to determine the rate of production. I ordered 12 models but that order contained 2x Tsukubas and 2x Camperdowns. Why these doubles? Well, WTJ, have never made Ikoma and Japanese squadrons consist of closely matched ships and the pair would usually be seen together. !3.5in gunned Admiral class ship models are as rare as hens teeth but Collingwood models are ten a penny. Why not get 4x Camperdown models? Well, Camperdown and Anson are identical but Rodney and Howe were slightly shorter and I live in hope that someone might model those before I kick the bucket. When the models arrived (a day late for 48hours tracked, but Royal Mail had cheated on the start date by not booking the parcel into the Post Office until they collected the parcel to take it to the Midlands Hub...They asked me for feedback, so I gave it to them!!!), five of the models were OK but the rest were all distorted (starboard side, forward). Both Camperdown models were distorted, so Jeff's model confirmed that Skillball's Miniatures had launched the ebay shop with a stock of a single model and that the rest are made to order very, very quickly. Shortly after receipt of the 12 models, I ordered another 34 individual ship models, including models newly added to the listing, and multi-packs of Destroyers as three ships. One of the two Nagato models was better than the other, Yamashiro was good, as was 1915 HMS Collingwood (I'll leave you to draw yor own conclusions, as to why) but the rest were sticky and smelly and that is what I am worried about. I do not want to lose any friendsfrom a lack of diligence on my part.
