Apparently they are hard to find Japan and appear to sell out very quickly.
Assembly is relatively simple but would be much easier if the instruction illustrations were bigger than they are at present.
The first model is of the 'Hyuga' class. (It seems odd to mention that name and not be talking about the WW2 ship!)
The second photo shows the Izumo. An obvious feature of this kit is the tie downs recessed into the flight deck. I think ships of this size would have suited the RN's needs better than the giant QE class ships.
It's high time the law was amended to allow the JMSDF to operate 'aircraft carriers' instead of classifying these ships as 'DDH' which is demonstrably silly.
Both kits allow for lifts to be either up or down - a feature I like a lot - and both have the same 'airwing' - 2 x Ospreys and 2 x Helos. The box shows F35s as a future option.
