As well as Raven & Roberts a major reference source is the WSS book 'Grand Fleet Destroyers' by John English (2019) - you were within six feet of my copy last Saturday.
The WAIRs had 2 x twin 4" and were a pre-WWII concept, coming into service in late '39 (I think) and 1940. Service tended to be in Home waters (East coast convoys, etc.).
The type was modelled by Neptun, as well as Argonaut & Fleetline, but not I think Clydeside.
If you want a project then the 'Arrowhead' model of HMS Vega can converted to a WAIR: I have it in stock.
