No one here is positing a position of the institutional church, against The Word made flesh for each of us understands that we need saving from our self destructive (sinful) ways.
Where there are human beings there we shall discover the flaws, and benefits of being human with our Church membership an example of the worst, and best in human behaviour.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ~ Romans 3:23
I have been crystal clear illustrating the example of Paul of Tarsus rejecting his earlier understandings that God requires His faithful child to obey the Laws of Moses, learning from his Damascus Road conversion that The Saviour lives in the life of every human person.
Galatians 2:20
