I could do that, Tony, but you set the standard here about ad hominem. For you it was 'code' for running out of argument.
I don't think the link is inevitable but, like you -- at least when it applies to people you disagree with -- it is a reasonable suspicion.
I just don't get how you could pontificate about ad hominem in the way you have and not abide by it yourself.
But it's not just that, of course. Those who engage in ad hominem often seem to use terms that are, pejorative yes, but insubstantial. There is contempt in a term like 'secularised Catholic' but what does it mean? How can it be verified in any objective sense?
It's just name-calling with more syllables.
You've run out of argument, Tony, not because I say so, but because that's what you apparently believe.
