There is a connection between Lonnie and Last train to San Fernando, insomuch that Denny Wright, Lonnie's original lead guitarist played lead guitar on Johnny Duncans version of "Last train" and provides what has rightly been described, as a " "breathtaking solo" on it. Last train to San Fernando is without doubt a tremendous record.
I'm sure numerous people have recorded it over the years but there is a really good version of it on Karl Denver's very enjoyable final album, "Movin' on".
