Cisplatin/pemetrexed for 4 cycles, every 21 days. Bill's tumor has the EGFR mutation, exon 21 which is rare, 10-15%. There are immunotherapies that target this marker. They have a clinical trial at AGH that after his chemo he could enroll and there are 2 arms; Observation or the Tyronsine Kinase inhibitor/Osimertinib. This is a 3rd generation therapy because the others over time the tumors gain resistance. They are usually used in late stage disease.

I want a second opinion with John's Hopkins via teleconference before we decide but they mentioned it could take a month and that is unacceptable to me so I am going to see what I can do to speed this up.

We plan on going to Florida the end of December to celebrate his mom's 80th birthday and to scope out the Fort Meyer's area for future retirement homes. We need to start his chemo soon but I want it to be the right choice for no evidence of disease (NED) down the road,
