there is no disease outside of the lung. He is scheduled for a lobectomy on August 24th unless there is spread of disease. They will do chemo first if that is the case. Not a good prognosis so please pray the tumor was found early enough and is only in the lung. In the blink of an eye our lives can change...I am stunned.

Joan, yes Pittsburgh has 2 nationally ranked cancer institutes. Allegheny General Cancer Center and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. We are fortunate, but from my 26 years in Cancer Research, early detection is still the best situation for a good prognosis. Just praying we found this early enough for a good life.
