Time for the Church to move on from the abuse crisis.

In an article I recently read it claimed that it was time for the Church to move on and stop cringing over something that happened over thirty years ago and was perpetrated by a very small minority. How many more apologies must be given?
The moral authority of the Church needs to be re-established but to do this catholic credibility must be recovered. Of course an opportunity was there during the homosexual marriage debate but the Bishops, apart from some restrained murmurs, seemed to place more reliance on the spiritual rather than the practical.
Our Judaeo-Christian culture is under assault by secular Leftist social engineering. Without a strong, credible, authoritative Church to oppose this force of darkness, the abyss beckons.

Seven times, seventy times?
Asking for and seeking forgiveness is something Jesus seemed to challenge his community (and us) about. It is something that requires true humility, repentance and restitution. None of that is subject to arbitrary limit.
God forgives as as soon as we genuinely seek it; humans take longer.

And, uniquely, the moral authority of the church is built on humility, forgiveness and seeking to give strength and comfort to the most vulnerable.

Not really sure what you mean here.

In 2018, Australia is not a 'Judaeo-Christian culture', it is a secular culture which resists the attempts at 'social engineering' by any group within it ... with mixed success.

And, again, the church builds its credibility counter-culturally. We 'wash the feet' again and again.
