The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Over my long life I am daily surprised by the responses I receive when praying to God, there being an immediate awareness that I am being heard, with a response pouring into my thoughts answering my request. My monologue progresses into a dialogue sufficient for me to understand that I am deep in conversation with My Saviour.
Our prayers, are also a dialogue with Our Father asking us to chat with Him, when our needs become too much for us to handle alone.
Over time our relationship with Our Father develops into a friendship enabling us to chat whenever the need arises. There will also be moments when The Father surprises us, when unexpectedly calling on us, not to proceed along the path that we intend to take. When this intervention occurs it has been my experience that The Father will explain in great depth why He proposes a different plan of action.
Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays. ~ Soren Kierkegaard
