In this post I'm avoiding becoming involved in the vast treasure of knowledge that has developed over the centuries, particularly favoured by The Stoic tradition of philosophers and their supporters.
Essentially Heraclitus proposed that The Logos..derived from the Greek word λόγος, references a universal divine reason, immanent in nature, yet transcending all oppositions and imperfections in the cosmos and humanity. An eternal and unchanging truth present from before the time of creation, available to every person who seeks a relationship with its presence in the life of every human person manifested in the world as an act of God's love in the reality that is The Christ.
In the New Testament the "Word (Logos) of God," addressed in John 1:1 and elsewhere illustrates The Father's choice to "speak" to His human creation. The Christian expression of this communication is evidenced in the Christ, who is the "Word become flesh."
When we hear The Word speaking within our thoughts we may well recognise our own voice, rather than an external voice...for The Word Made Flesh resides within our being, also known to us as The Heart of the matter.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory,
glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. ~ John 1
