Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt, but in spite of doubt.
~ Rollo May
My own doubts surface daily leading me to understand those who visit me, asking to assist them in their periods of doubting the existence of God when all appears lost in a cloud of unknowing.
Without doubt there can be no trust in God, particularly when we need the counselling of the Divine Presence, when facing troubles overwhelming our ability to resolve.
My advice to all who face a crushing dilemma rendering them despondent....remain committed to your relationship with The Father, who will supply the remedy per His timing. Meantime rest assured that The Father will continue to supervise our circumstances ensuring that we are not harmed by weaknesses appearing to threaten our well being.
It is important that we continue to trust in Our Father's intervention in our life, despite our misgivings and our trust under trial fearful that we have no one to turn too.
It is during our periods of grave doubt, and depression that Our Father will reach out to us, lifting us out of our pit of desperation.
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
~ Psalm 40:1-3
