Dear Father in heaven, I’m not a praying man, but if you’re up there and you can hear me, show me the way…show me the way.”
Working to accomplish our dreams is never lost on those of us determined that our aspirations will be achieved...
...even, if it takes us our life time, working to realise all that we believe we will fulfil.
Wise sages among us constantly remind us that our journey of self discovery is our purpose for being alive...never the destination...encouraging us to take our time, never rushing that which can be achieved in the time Our Father allocates each of us to reveal His plans for our life's purpose.
Clarence the Angel: “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”
The faithful Catholic, Italian-American film director, Frank Capra devoted his professional life creating films revealing the human struggle for self improvement, particularly when circumstances appeared to conspire against the "underdog" ever succeeding in achieving their heart's desire. The heroic efforts of the characters brought to life in Capra's films display courage in the face of certain defeat. I am offering a link to "It's A Wonderful Life" where the leading character, George Bailey played by James Stewart listens to his innermost person, revealed on screen as an angel..Clarence...dispensing advice how best to cope with, and overcome the adversities daily imposing their anxieties on George Bailey.
James Stewart had spent his war years serving with the United States Airforce flying bombers out of the United Kingdom, over German cities. James Stewart was demobilised a broken person, depressed near to a mental break down carrying a huge burden of guilt for the death, and destruction his bombing raids over Germany had unleashed. The making of this film restored James Stewart's resolve to resume his pre-war work as an actor.
This film is worth watching for its therapeutic value demonstrating that the patient, and determined person following the counselling of their inner person can snatch victory, out of the arms of defeat.
Our Father's presence in our life teaches us that all our dreams can be accomplished in accordance with His timing. Rather like the patience of The Prophet Job we are encouraged to remain patient, and focused on The Father's promise granting us all that He has assured us He will provide to become His outreach into the lives of those people He chooses to assist.
