Disappointment signals our resignation to that which had enabled us to feel hopeful.
Enthusiasm pursuing our dreams leads us to believe, even celebrate our success in advance when assuming that our plans will be successful.
Our resilience in the face of apparent failure encourages us to accept reality as it appears to be.
On the other hand the experienced observer may well believe that our optimistic outlook is more about our sense of timing,
than of our goal being realised within the time frame we decided would be appropriate.
In other words our objective may well be much more a matter of waiting patiently for it to emerge,
in due season per the plan of Divine Providence.
Disappointment to a noble soul is what cold water is to burning metal; it strengthens, tempers, intensifies, but never destroys it. ~ Eliza Tabor
Divine Providence can be irksome for those of us expecting to realise our plans satisfying our need to believe that we are in complete control of our life. Walking the road of hard knocks over time teaches each of us, that there is a time for everything...with God determining the appropriate time for us to reap the harvest, following our season growing endurance.
Discouragement is our choice to make, when our life fails to provide us with all that we believe we deserve.
Nothing in life has happened to you.
It’s happened for you. Every disappointment. Every wrong.
Even every closed door has helped make you into who you are.
~ Joel Osteen
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1
