Salvation from our self inflicted injuries is the principle focus of today's readings.
We are invited to respond to Our Saviour's request to let Him show us how best to live our life.
Redemption triggers a memory from my boyhood when my mother would ask me to redeem vouchers issued by our local supermarket in exchange for food for the evening meal. I can recall fish fingers being one of my favourite choices whenever my mother insisted it was my turn to visit the grocer and redeem the vouchers.
Health giving nourishment is an important ingredient in our relationship with The Divine Presence in our life taking care of our every need.
He even becomes Our Saviour stepping into our thoughts to guide us out of behaviour threatening our well being, even our life.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
