In my reflective moments bathed in quietness I look back over my life understanding that I was, and am being led along a specific route when taking note of, and following those many fortuitous coincidences inspiring me to continue responding with enthusiasm to that which was prepared for me, in anticipation of me becoming the ongoing creation of The Father leading me, Kindly Light.
Nothing whatever, whether great or small, can happen to a believer, without God's ordering and permission. There is no such thing as "chance," "luck" or "accident" in the Christian's journey through this world. All is arranged and appointed by God. And all things are "working together" for the believer's good. ~ J. C. Ryle
Ones perception, interpretation if you wish presupposes that not everything that we experience is preordained, rather a response to our decisions. Then we ask what led us to make that choice, opening up a path to where we previously would not have thought of going.
God is always trying to give good things to us, but our hands are too full to receive them.
~ Augustine of Hippo
The great Greek philosopher Socrates (per Plato's account) informs us that he was an enthusiastic student of life's teaching lessons, when choosing to acknowledge that he knew, that he knew nothing. This constant daily life awakening awareness, that he was being educated by life's teaching lessons enabled Socrates to grow into a wiser, and happier person for daring to believe that his need to learn would last his life time.
Humility is the element in the human condition often at odds with its opposing aspect the ego, determined to persuade us that it is our self focus that endows us with our just rewards. Scripture informs us that as we sow, so shall we repeap sufficiently to pay us all that we believe is our due. Life's rewards are not always a joyous experience when realising that a self centred existence provides its hoarder with the awareness that surrounded by "stuff" they, nevertheless deny themself the joys of living, when not sharing their life's gifts with those who by perceived chance enter their life to participate at The Father's Banqueting Table where sharing ones excess is rewarded with the joys of living ones life following The Father's Word in all matters.
He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God's providence to lead him alright. ~ Blaise Pascal
