I quote:
The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones;
and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones.
end quotes
At first glance today's readings appear to focus on honesty in our interactions with our neighbour, and all who enter our life in whatever capacity. The image staring back at us from our bathroom mirror provides each of us with a mask, concealing all that lies behind the face we deliver to impress, deceive, or assist our fellow traveller.
The just steward delivers his rewards with an understanding that the servant is worthy of their choices, even recognising that with the passage of time the dishonest servant can change their behaviour, sufficiently to become the epitome of honest dealings, having learned that they also have been on the receiving end of dishonest treatment.
Each, and every day we will be held accountable for our decisions, our actions helping, or abusing those entering our orbit challenging our responsibility as a worthy servant of Our Father's gifts granted to us to prove our worthiness as His faithful servant.
Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.
