7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Our insecurities have a habit of creeping up on us with a vengeance, encouraging us to surrender to our fears, sufficient to wallow in our self perpetuating pit of despair that we have failed. Those doubts register our faith in The Father's promise to conduct us through our every day, and night whatever the difficulty He will shield us from all harm when we do all that He asks of us.
Our doubts readily evidences our trust in the divine presence, even when the task ahead appears too great, even impossible to the rational thinker ill at ease with the prospect of achieving that which The Father has promised them He will deliver.
The trusting person resolutely refuses to yield to our doubts knowing that we can have confidence because God is enough and, in Him, we are enough.
Even in our weakest moments Our Father grasps our hand leading us across raging torrents, to the other side of our anxieties where we rise into the awareness that our life is daily being saved by our greatest friend asking us to trust Him, shepherding us through our life's journey discovering that all will be well knowing that He protects us against our easy choice to surrender to our fears.
We have every reason in the world to hold our head high tackling any difficulty facing us with confidence, and self-esteem that rests on our friendship with The Father leading us through our life's distressing periods.
35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
