“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”
Trust in Our Father's word is our free choice to remain faithful to Him, notwithstanding our rational understanding encouraging us to do our own thing by appealing to our sense of immediate need, thereby rejecting The Father's promise to do all in accordance with His good timing.
The long term misery of the Prophet Job did not deflect him from remaining faithful to The Father, despite Job's daily complaints that he did not deserve to be treated so badly by life's travails. Job could become very bitter, with his anger revealing his frustrations with all that he was suffering. Nevertheless, Job's patience endured sufficiently for him to receive God's daily visit filled with wise counselling how best to deal with his fears, and misgivings growing his resilience for another day, followed by yet another day enduring his frustrations.
Job's patience would eventually reward him with all that he had lost, and more the result of his faithfulness in The Father's promise that he would restore Job's good fortune with interest.
“And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
And continuing in v12 saying “And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.
~ Job 42:10
Our faith in God's word will daily be proven by our doubts, demonstrating that our trust in God's promises will be tested by the trials of our life's journey inviting us to examine our circumstances through the limitations imposed by our the limited perspective of our flesh. Divine Wisdom knowing all presents us with the complete story of our life, when we freely choose to do all that Our Father asks of us.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” ~ Hebrews 11:1
