“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
Fear, and worry are synonymous with dread of that which we believe gives us good reason to fret over what may, or might not destroy our well being. My previous post on anxiety provides its reader with the awareness that our fears are nothing more than our perceptions, weighing down on us sufficiently to demolish our self confidence.
We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more from imagination than from reality. ~ Seneca
When we enter the realm of the imagination everything is up for grabs, understanding that we create that which we fear most.
How then to avoid being manipulated into depression by our self constructed fears existing only within our mind?
Our state of mind remains our choice.
”Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.” – Japanese Proverb
What to do when our thoughts are engulfed with fear of that which may happen, or not?
”No power so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.” – Edmund Burke
Our Father states clearly “Do not fear” hundreds of times throughout Holy Scripture.
Our Father asks us to approach Him whenever we believe that we cannot cope with all that has driven us into a state of fear.
Our Father invites us not to waste a moment calling Him for assistance, when understanding that our perceptions will attempt to subdue any thought that our greatest friend is at our side offering us His help, when in good faith we ask Him to guide us out of all that is menacing our health.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
~ Psalm 56:3-4
