I quote:
One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

Our Father protects us, and safeguards us when we do all that He asks of us.
Today's readings enable us to reflect on the journey out of Egypt, by Moses and the Israelites into the promised land flowing with milk, and honey. That promised land began to emerge when Moses chose to trust The Father to lead him, and the released Israelite slaves into freedom from an oppressive life under Egyptian control.
Those forty years journeying through the desert enabled Moses to understand that the promised land is not a plot of earth, but the life lived under the loving, and life affirming protection of Our Father guiding us through the ebbs, and flows of our life's passage by providing for all our needs.
In Exodus 19:5 Our Father says,
"If you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my own possession among all the peoples; for all the earth is mine."
