Our Father chooses the optimum moment to supply us with the answer to our puzzling trials, thereby ensuring that we learn to remain patient with the instruction provided by our perceived misfortune.
Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which, in prosperous circumstances, would have lain dormant. ~ Horace
Trial and experience are comforting companions, enabling us to weather the storm attempting to beat us into submission. When we believe that we have exhausted our reserves of patience, and determination there arrives a moment when out of the blue our endurance receives a boost from within our being as if to say, remain focused for the solution is in sight.
Olympic medalists remind us that it took them many years of hard work, and painful setbacks to arrive at that moment standing on the podium receiving their medal to a round of applause. Then they get on with the rest of their life, understanding that their resolve to overcome their fear of failing led them to victory.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
~ James 1:2-4
