end quote
Scripture has many references to Our Father calling His children into his tender, loving care. Possibly the most controversial is:
'For Many Are Called, But Few Are Chosen.' ~ Matthew 22:14
Many within our Christian family make references to the elect, and the predestined as if "the few" are selected before their birth. This interpretation is remote from the reality that Our Father provides for His children. Without exception every human person is offered the opportunity to accept Our Father's invitation to dine at His banqueting table. Our choice to accept His conditions, or follow our own way through life.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened.”
~ C. S. Lewis
Often I am asked how will I know when God is proposing a particular choice, and not another?
Self serving desires are superficially laced with immediate rewards calculated to display our sense of self importance. God's way is long term, placing us in a position to serve those He brings into our orbit to assist. Our rewards are supplied each, and every day serving Our Father's will.
When our life's journey is completed, we will hear these words: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.~ Matthew 25:34
