Scripture makes good use of metaphor revealing the presence of The Holy Spirit with the wind, fire, and the white dove speaking into our ear. When visiting the cathedrals of Europe artistic expression reveals statues of a dove speaking into the ear of a local saint.
I was approached this morning by one of our visiting French students, asking me why he had been overwhelmed at dawn, by a powerful inner presence speaking to him of his need to wake out of his belief that his university diploma would open the door to a rewarding life.

Jean was anxiously waiting for me to address his question, with an answer that would satisfy his curiosity. I replied that the answers he needed were already waiting within his conscious understandings, when ever he chose to listen to the good news flowing into his life.

Most of us will have experienced moments when in deep silence, we receive advice out of the blue, rather like a gentle breeze blowing us in the direction opening up for us. The persistence day, after day of this intervention is a wake up call providing its recipient with the means to do all that is asked.
