I quote:
I am the living bread that came down from heaven,
says the Lord; whoever eats this bread will live forever.

When a child I can recall rejecting eggs the staple breakfast in my family. My father became incensed by my refusals sufficient to invite our family physician to visit our home to determine the cause of my repudiation of eggs. Doctor MacCauley (a close family friend) made a thorough investigation of my eating habits, with the enthusiasm of a seasoned detective he calmly informed my father that I was consuming more than sufficient nutritious food to be able to skip eggs. My dad's over zealous concerns were resolved. In my twilight years I consume one boiled egg every day.
My words here are focused on The Holy Eucharist revealing the true presence of Our Saviour when we participate in His life.
Eucharist is another word for thanksgiving, for the help that we receive from Our Father enabling us to journey through life with the awareness that we are asked to reciprocate in kind for the nutrition that we receive from The Father, His gift to us for doing all that He asks of us.
Our faith, our trust in Our Father's inspiration leading us through life, is that covenant freely entered into by us responding in kind to all that The Father asks of us. When we reciprocate in faith to Our Father's requests, He will provide us with all that will enable us to implement His appeal to us to become all that a loving child can become, daily fed by the Bread of Heaven.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
