Quote:
Beloved, we are God’s children now;
what we shall be has not yet been revealed.
We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is
end quote
My emphasis highlights our here, and now...not some distant day. Revealing Him is our free choice to implement into our life the advice that flows into our conscious understandings to do all that He asks of us.
The first six years of my life I lived on a farm with livestock, and arable farming the bread, and butter of my family's good fortune.
My family's one and only working dog (Rover) each morning escorted the cattle from their barns to the fields and vice versa. The cattle instinctively responded to Rover's protective role. My dad had little to do, apart from keeping a watchful eye on Rover's droving.
Attempting to herd a human being might well produce the opposite result, for slavery is contrary to the natural instinct of the human person, with choice an ever present reminder that the individual human person values our liberty to do as we please.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened.”― C.S. Lewis
Our life's journey of self discovery teaches us that following the guidance of Our Saviour, speaking to us from the centre of our being protects us from ill fortune, leading us safely until our journey's completion. Trusting in Our Saviour's wise guidance takes time, learning from experience that His advice enables us to reveal His presence alive in our life.
“We are mirrors whose brightness is wholly derived from the sun that shines upon us.”~ C. S. Lewis
