Way back in 1959 I dared to watch a BBC TV evening broadcast interview of Carl Jung by the intellectually brilliant, John Freeman an interviewer well able to dig deep into the unplumbed recesses of Switzerland's greatest psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst an inspiration leading me to ask, why? Even until this day I choose to question all the guidance that appears within my conscious awareness as if to say, my doubts lead me to where I need to go.
In other words I never take an answer for granted preferring to conduct my own investigations as if I were Scotland Yard's greatest detective. Back in the 1950s I was a big fan of the television serial "Fabian of the Yard" drawn from the real life experiences of Chief Superintendent Robert Fabian known for his highly analytical approach to solving crimes.
Carl Jung taught me that synchronistic coincidences are not accidents of chance, rather a pattern representing directions leading us along our road of self discovery. In simple terms those sign posts that appear "out of the blue" are fortuitous coincidences tailored for our benefit
Our spiritual life teaches us that for us to see, hear, and understand we must first choose humility enabling us to remain open to all that Our Father provides for our well being. This does not mean that we should remain uneducated, or docile rather that we take note, or remain open to those signals that life introduces into our conscious awareness as if to say, do all that I ask.
The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery.
There comes a leap in consciousness, call it Intuition
or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why.
~ Albert Einstein
Professor Einstein writes that intellectual prowess is not the measure that we use to discern the signals that we are receiving pointing us in the direction that Our Father has provided for our life's purpose. Enlightenment is that awareness that we are being guided along a specific route, with the understanding that the persistence of those interventions is a godsend for our betterment.
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. ~ John 16
