I quote:
I turn to you, Lord, in time of trouble, and you fill me with the joy of salvation.
Blessed is he whose fault is taken away,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed the man to whom the LORD imputes not guilt,
in whose spirit there is no guile.
R. I turn to you, Lord, in time of trouble, and you fill me with the joy of salvation.
Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
my guilt I covered not.
I said, “I confess my faults to the LORD,”
and you took away the guilt of my sin.
end quote
Acknowledging our faults, our guilt asking Our Father for forgiveness releases us from our easy choice to over dwell on those matters that cause so much concern, sufficient to destroy our sense of well being. Getting it off our chest enables us to begin afresh having learnt that we are as flawed as the next person.
Learning from our falls is a process of self discovery engaging us to better the person we were yesterday, enabling us to respond wisely to life's challenges when confronted with dilemmas encouraging our ego to speak for us leading us into deeper trouble.
Our Father invites us to let Him show us how best to respond to those difficulties driving us to act against our self interest. I have understood from experience that when facing overwhelming problems, asking Our Father for His guidance provides me with the remedy avoiding conflict.
When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted ~ Psalm 138:3
Those obstacles, and trials that daily confront us are life building when we choose to ask Our Father for His assistance.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
