Holy Scripture in The Book of Genesis 1:3 states that on the first day of creation: “God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”
The Annunciation reveals The Light of our salvation present in the life of every human person, encouraging each of us to listen to His good news:
Light opens a path that darkness can never dispel. This fact of our life can be understood when entering a dark room, switching on a light revealing all that is divulged to human awareness. This principle applies spiritually, for the light of hope overpowers the darkness of discouragement, and despair ever present when ever we reject the call of The Light, asking us to permit Him to guide us out of our self imposed darkness.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone should hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ~ Apocolypse 3:20
The revelation of hope in a life filled with disturbing, troubling events is known through personal experience.
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.
