I quote:
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be watchful! Be alert!
You do not know when the time will come.
It is like a man traveling abroad.
He leaves home and places his servants in charge, each with his own work, and orders the gatekeeper to be on the watch
end quote
Today's readings reveal the presence of The One who is watchful and protective rather like a sentinel witnessing the easy willingness of the human person to exit the loving protection of The Good Shepherd.
Free will enables each of us to live our life according to our choices revealing our ambitions, insecurities, and determination to become all that we believe serves our best interest.
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. ~ Allen Saunders
Walking the avenue of hard knocks each of us learns from our experiences that despite our determination to live life our way, we are being influenced to take another path persistent in its impact upon our choices.
Way, way back in my youth when a sea scout I learnt from practical experience canoeing, and sailing dinghies that navigating with the flow of the current, and a light touch on the tiller provided me with the awareness that our life's journey of self discovery is best lived when the wind fills our sails.
