During my student days in London travelling the tube to college I spent my time watching the morning commuter filling in the crossword puzzles in their daily newspapers. In conversation with an elderly gent I learnt that every morning he completed The Times crossword puzzle with ease, the result of entering into the mind of the crossword puzzle's author. This process that had taken my travelling companion years to discern, by remaining committed to his belief that the crossword puzzle author had personally invited him to participate in the process of working together solving the puzzles confronting him everyday.
My Christmas morning gift of a jig saw puzzle waiting for me to unbox arrived with the benefit of a picture of the finished puzzle, enabling me to complete the puzzle with the patience of one knowing the end result. No worries, no mystery, no mistakes. A predictable, boring exercise in patience building.
My London tube travelling companion (an insurance broker) had assisted me understand that the puzzling adversities of life confronting every human person can be resolved when exercising patience, and entering into the mind of the author of our life inviting each of us to allow Him the joy of working with us, to decipher the puzzling dilemmas that life presents to us to celebrate all that our life offers us.
