I quote:
I prayed, and prudence was given me;
I pleaded, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
I preferred her to scepter and throne,
and deemed riches nothing in comparison with her,
nor did I liken any priceless gem to her;

Wisdom is predictably associated with the accumulation of knowledge, experience and how one responds to the awareness that being knowledgeable does not necessarily provide the appropriate response to life's daily challenges.
Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you. ~ Aldous Huxley
Divine Wisdom is the gift that keeps on flowing into our conscious understandings when we choose to respond to the call of The Saviour to place His gifts to us, at His disposal that we may become God's outreach to those entering our daily life.
In today's Gospel, Jesus invites a curious observer to surrender all his worldly possessions into God's care, to inherit eternal life.
Few understand that nothing is lost, when sacrificing ones life, and perceived security into the hands of The Saviour.
The dilemma for all who are called into Our Father's journey of self discovery, is one of trusting in God's care for all, including the faithful child placing their entire life at the disposal of The Father.
What does this mean? Simply responding to the inspiration that emerges from our inner life, asking us to become The Father's outreach into the lives of those who by apparent chance enter our daily life.
When Solomon became King of Israel, he could have asked God for many things. Solomon asked for wisdom (1 King 3:9) God answered Solomon's request. “God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice. I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be” (1 King 3:11-12)
Our life long journey of self discovery provides the faithful child with a daily growing awareness that our decisions are being inspired by a wise, and providential friend guiding us out of our self destructive ways, into a life rewarded with all that we will ever need to celebrate our life's purpose.
“the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere”
~ James 3:17
