Remember your mercies, O Lord.
Your ways, O LORD, make known to me;
teach me your paths,
guide me in your truth and teach me,
Enlightenment is a life long process providing the enthusiastic pupil with a daily growing awareness that their choice to follow the way of The Saviour rewards them with The Father's plan for their life, setting them/us free to celebrate all that The Father provides for our well being, happiness, and contentment.
My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord;
I know them, and they follow me.
The inevitable question arises: how do I know when it is The Saviour speaking to me?
Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves,
each looking out not for his own interests,
but also for those of others.
There will be moments in the life of every human person when faced with an overwhelming challenge obliging us to make an important decision two voices will speak to us from within our innermost self. One voice will encourage us to choose our self interest ignoring others; while the other voice will invite us to serve the common good. The voice of The Saviour is instantly recognisable for an overwhelming feeling of comfort, support and relief will settle into our understanding that we have made the correct choice.
As a child I learnt what goes round, comes round teaching me that as we sow, so shall we reap. Thus, sooner, or later we will sit down at a table filled with the consequences of our actions for us to digest, with indigestion the reward for those unable to swallow the results of their self serving ways. Everyone will receive their just deserts filled with bitterness.
