In primary school I learnt that our actions speak much more loudly, than our words. In other words we should become the person we expect others to become, by implementing into our life all that we expect from others. Thus, speaking our mind should become the catalyst of change within our life, revealing all that we expect in the behaviour of others who share our life.
The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. ~ Psalm 19:7
Wise sages over the centuries teach us that the key to daily growing wisdom is to admit to our ignorance enabling us to learn, that we have much to learn. It seems paradoxical because we believe that being wise has something to do with acquiring vast amounts of knowledge. We tend to group the words knowledge, and wisdom together leading us to confuse the two terms as synonyms.
Understanding is that life expanding crop that we harvest by remaining simply open to learning that Our Father provides us with all that we will need to respond to our daily struggles, even now knocking at our door inviting us to confront life's joy growing us out of our leisurely belief that we are sufficiently smart to know it all.
The road of hard knocks has a well established track record ensuring that when we become too big for our boots, life intervenes teaching us that our life's journey of self discovery invites us to remain humble, and open to learning from The Teacher, of Teachers that our pride can trip us out of our smug self assurance.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
~ James 3:13
