I quote:
Thus says the LORD:
All you who are thirsty,
come to the water!
You who have no money,
come, receive grain and eat;
Come, without paying and without cost,
drink wine and milk!
Why spend your money for what is not bread;
your wages for what fails to satisfy?
Heed me, and you shall eat well,
you shall delight in rich fare.
Come to me heedfully,
listen, that you may have life.
I will renew with you the everlasting covenant,
the benefits assured to David.
end quote
The question often asked by the sceptical person:
Why are there so many malnourished people?
One of the many lessons society is learning from the ongoing Corvid-19 pandemic is the ease with which obese people seccumb to the virus. The obesity crisis is a reminder that while millions of people are malnourished, many more are eating to excess.
Divine Providence supplies us with sufficient, and more to share our good fortune with those less fortunate. The result of sharing ensures that we live a healthier, and more satisfying life. Quality of life is never discovered masquerading in ownership of expensive "clutter" that tantalise the senses, and impress our neighbours.
Our Father works His loving endeavours through each, and every human person asking us to sacrifice a little of our excess to assist those who enter our orbit, as if by accident.
In secondary school I learnt that the individual human person can make more impact addressing the needs of their neighbours, than any thought that another revolution replacing a ruling elite, with another ruling elite can provide for the needy person seeking bread, and shelter.
If the ways of the Almighty are not humanly logical, it is not the fault of the Almighty but of the limitations of human logic.
