Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.
Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight
"The Wizard of Oz" tells the story of Dorothy on a journey of self discovery leaving behind a black, and white world filled with what she believed to be boringly predictable. Dorothy wanted to live a much more colorful life, relieving her of the daily monotony living on a farm in Kansas can appear to present to the pioneer impatient to discover all that the road ahead will provide.
Anxiety for change will often grip the faithful person determined to fill their days with satisfaction, born out of their perception that The Saviour's leadership will provide rewards encouraging them to savour a life overflowing with excitement and contentment. Never a dull day. Our Father's timing can test our faith, for in our determination to steam ahead at full steam there is the growing awareness that our travelling companion knows best what we can accomplish to enact His plan for our life.
Scripture invites us to learn that the journeys of Abraham, Moses, Lot, and The Apostles were filled with dangers, and life threatening dilemmas challenging the traveller to remain patient in the face of overpowering perils menacing their very life.
The colorful variety of characters that Dorothy would encounter on her journey is Our Father's encouragement to invest our time, in the lives of those who by apparent chance enter our orbit to enrich our life, just as we benefit theirs reciprocating with delight that life's many coincidences provides to cultivate our joy meeting people savouring their need to broaden their horizons.

Wayside inns have a well established reputation for providing rest, and nourishment with the opportunity to ponder on the journey thus far; with further thoughts percolating through our conscious awareness that the way ahead will be no less exciting, and rewarding knowing we will have to go through many trials, and different obstacles growing us out of our lethargy that we can take life for granted.
