I quote:
When they had gathered together they asked him,
“Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He answered them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons
that the Father has established by his own authority.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth.”

While today we commemorate the Ascension of The Lord we also recognise The Saviour's clear statement, that His Apostles would receive the power of God's Spirit leading them through their lives.
Our Father's empowerment of the faithful person provides the recipient with all that they will ever need to serve The Saviour's outreach to all who enter our orbit, thereby fulfiling The Father's plan in our life.
It would have been comfortable for His apostles had Jesus waited for His friends to be certain in all respects who they had been spending time with over the previous three years. The Apostles' reference to the restoration of The Kingdom of Israel alludes to their confusion, and insecurities. Jesus does not spend His time in the world of science and proof possibly satisfying the follower demanding absolute evidence, beyond all doubt. The Saviour lives in the realm of faith, a life of daily growth through doubt, and fear into trust, and peace the reward for those who follow Our Father's Word until journey's end.
