'I am so detached that I never think of myself, only of others.'
Nasrudin answered:
'I am so objective that I can look at myself as if I were another person; so I can afford to think of myself.'
There is a subtle understanding that Nasrudin helps us appreciate, when inviting each of us to view our life, reflected in the life of other people. Thus, when we identify flawed behaviour in another person, it is also wise to immediately recognise our own flaws, before passing judgement.
Galatians 6:4-5
Each of you must examine your own actions.
Then you can be proud of your own accomplishments without comparing yourself to others.
Assume your own responsibility
Jesus of Nazareth was none too happy with the Pharisaical mindset knowing well that those slavishly serving laws are apt to overlook their own well concealed failings, when identifying the very visible defects of their neighbours.
