I quote:
Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.”
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

Sacrifice is the call of The Saviour when inviting each of us to do all that He asks of us, that we may sit at His banqueting table sharing in His providential gifts granted to all who sacrifice to serve the common good.
My early imagery of The Last Supper is that of Leonardo Da Vinci's painting depicting his representation symbolising all that he imagined. In reality Jesus and His apostles would have been seated on a carpet facing one another in a much more relaxed manner with plates of food shared between all.
Sharing ones bread with those, who by design enter our orbit reflects the initiative of Divine Providence, encouraging us to share our good fortune with those much less fortunate.
16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. ~ Hebrews 13
