Does it take Einstein to see that the era of dominance of Western liberal democracies is coming to an end and this “crisis” will probably be the catalyst for its final demise? Firstly by economic and possibly social collapse or damaged so much leaving a power vacuum that the global heir apparents (China and it’s allies) are eager to fill. Possibly a confrontation of even a major war, probably not long lasting, will cement in place the long foreshadowed “new world order” – technocratic global governance dominated by and shaped in the model of Chinese communist authoritarianism...??
Western liberal democracy was never perfect and in its final decades the moral and social decay, decadence, corruption & inequality has become increasingly pronounced, like empires past, sealing it’s fate to eventual extinction. But what of the "order" that will rise from the "chaos"? * For many years I’ve felt a vague feeling of dread when you get those moments of realising the awful place the world will eventually find itself in – the time leading to and of the anti-Christ. I can’t help but feel we are probably at the beginning of a "great leap forward" towards that time…
But just as there was the darkness of the Passion and Death of our Lord, so too there is the Resurrection and the hope and surety of God’s final victory over all evil, sin, suffering and death..and of course Our Blessed Mother’s promise…"In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph!"
"Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."
Matt 24: 29-31
