For the record, I agree with your interpretation, but if you were to interpret the Douay-Rheims in the literal way you interpret it in relation to homosexuality, then you could be excused for thinking that this was about the rich and not just about the love of wealth. You could also be excused for thinking the latter interpretation is one of 'convenience'.
Then Jesus said to his disciples: Amen, I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
