... if this was really about Folau's freedom of speech, why did he sign the contract (twice)?

I'm sure Folau can waste $2M or more getting high-priced lawyers to make this a 'celebrity trial', but it won't changed the fact that he made a choice, signed a contract and, clearly, broke the terms of that contract.
