Mr. Folau's opinions have been reported in great detail, and often by the media. Mr. Folau has been heard, and is being heard; loud, and clear. Mr. Folau has never been denied his right to a public platform where his views have been clearly enunciated and reported by the media.
In Luke's gospel we read that Simon The Pharisee was annoyed by the arrival at his table of an uninvited guest; a prostitute.
So overlaid was Simon with official piety that he had killed within him the spontaneity of love for another human person. Whereas the uninvited guest had not. She was herself, and being so, was open to loving another human being.
Simon the good churchman was dead for he had chosen to worship rules, laws, and his perception of what Our Father asks from each and every human person. The uninvited guest was alive and open to loving, and being loved.
Jesus said of the woman "Her sins which are many are forgiven because she loved much."
There are those who identify as Christian (a self imposed label) who are often so pathologically intent on preserving as far as they can an image of themselves as Christ like that they are totally unaware of the harm their attempted humility is doing to other people.
I write pathologically intent deliberately for psycho pathology reveals a limited awareness of what, and who we are - when judging others by our own standards of what is sinful.
I go to church, I read The Bible, I say my prayers, I do good works creates a curtain between them and us, the me who believes that serving a roster of rules, and regulations enhances my relationship with God.
There are those who believe that God is very much like H. G. Well's character, Mr. Polly considering Him: a limitless being having the nature of a schoolmaster, making infinite rules, known and unknown, rules that are always ruthlessly enforced and with an infinite capacity for punishment.
Ephesians 2:4-5
But God was merciful! We were dead because of our sins, but God loved us so much that he made us alive with Christ, and God’s wonderful kindness is what saves you.
