And die, don't know when;
Must go, don't know where;
I am astonished I am so cheerful.”
~ Patrick Leigh Fermor (1)
Life has its moments when there is a wish that it hadn't happened, then reality steps in to remind us that there is much to do, with so little time to do what must be done.
James 1:2-4 Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
Patrick Leigh Fermor's travelling experiences enabled him to become a gifted travel writer, and war time hero here in Greece. Patrick lived life to the full taking risks that would never enter the realm of possibilities of most of us.
Without taking risks none of us can experience the adventure waiting for the resolute hero of life's passage determined to discover all that lies on the other side of the hill.
Scripture encourages us to trust in Our Father's invitation to let Him become our travelling companion, that we may more readily step out into the deep and savour all that life has on offer.
“the feeling of being lost in time and geography with months and years hazily sparkling ahead in a prospect of inconjecturable magic”
~Patrick Leigh Fermor
Doubts are a reminder that the senses construct a wall cemented with fear, weighed down with falsity dedicated to inprisoning us within its life destroying grasp. A breath from God's Spirit consumes our fears, toppling the fence that prevents us from stepping out onto our path of life affirming adventures.
Just as much as we yield to the divine inner person, we will be rewarded with the fruits of The Spirit guiding us into a life filled with happiness, born out of our trust in Our Father's love for all His children.
Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.
