Trust in God should include our willingness to prove to Him that our words are matched by our deeds, otherwise we merely pay lip service lacking self sacrifice of the abundance that He has provided to us, to share with those He sends to us.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
When Mother Teresa arrived in Calcutta in 1948 alone, and insecure she rapidly learned that she was being inspired daily to undertake tasks that would provide the poor, and dying with assistance that they would otherwise never receive. There was no end result, merely a growing daily workload that attempted to address the needs of the poverty stricken human person.
So it is for all who follow the way of The Saviour, surrending control of ones life into the care of the Divine Presence, leading us to fulfil His invitation to become Our Father's outreach to the many needing practical help.
Every charitable act is a stepping stone toward heaven. ~Henry Ward Beecher
Charity is love that can be delivered into lives of our neighbours by more than money, or food there being an awareness that simple acts of kindness, being there for a lonely person can transform an unhappy person into a hope filled neighbour, joyous that they have found human company to lift their depression out of a pit filled with loneliness.
Our own moments of adversity are investments learning what it is to need the company, and advice of those who enter our life as if by chance at the right time to provide us with the help that extricates us from our dilemma.
Chance encounters are often deemed to be fortuitous moments that encourage us to re-think our position, and send us off in another direction; a path that hitherto we would have never considered. Here lies an awareness that we have an invisible friend taking care of our every need, when we take the time to hear, and listen too His words of encouragement, to do as He asks.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will give you counsel and watch over you.
Heaven sent advice stirs us to change our pattern of thinking, encouraging us to break out of self imposed restraints, to take a new path far away from the hopelessness that has held us in confinement.
If God has given you the world's goods in abundance, it is to help you gain those of Heaven and to be a good example of sound teaching to your sons, servants, and relatives. ~Ignatius of Loyola
In giving of oneself to serve others, ones generosity becomes the seeding of our own investment in the lives that Our Father sends to us to grow a harvest of plenty for all, including the farmer toiling with Heaven sent seeds.
Psalm 143:8
Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.
