Emptiness is opportunity for those of us who have understood that we have been drained of everything we believed we are, while being alive to the possibilities that life offers the adventurer ready to begin another journey into the unknown, exploring all that life has in waiting to reveal the next chapter of God's plan for those who accept His invitation to accompany Him.
Emptying our selves of who we believe we are is the invitation of the divine mystery to all who desire to be filled with His life.

When Jesus called His apostles to follow Him, He also asked them to renounce everything that they believed made their life. We become aware of the void as it is being filled with new life that had not previously entered our thoughts, to celebrate our time living to the fullest in the care of The Saviour.
The sceptical person may well believe that idealistic dreams are for those deeply committed to a monastic life, whereas Jesus plainly invites each of us to participate passionately in Our Father's plan for every human person.
